Title: The Seduction of Violette Tournaline

Author: Shawnee Small

Genre: Historical/Romance/Erotica

Rating: ****

Review: The opening to this story was great we meet Violette who is the only child of the richest textile merchant and she is to be suited a husband which displeases her greatly as she is quite a forward thinking young woman. During the ball she mets the englishman; Gabriel Marcheur who she is immediately smitten with, his handsome looks and charm draw her in completely.

Gabriel shows Violette many things including a sexual pleasure she didn’t know existed but he doesn’t take her virginity, ever the gentleman but he has things that require his attention and temporarily has to leave her. Jacques Dupres also seems to be a problem as Violette rejected his offer of courtship and he may attempt to destory Violette’s happiness with Gabriel. By the time we reach the half way mark in this story, Jacques become hostile even violent towards Violette because she continues to refuses even knowing Gabriel’s secret her heart belongs to her englishman.

After some seriously dramatic and at times slightly confusing events Gabriel’s love for Violette destroying Jacque’s desire for power and for a price Violette is free to love whomever she choices and work in the trade she desires. This story was beautifully written with equal measures of passion, heartbreak and effortless wonder. I highly recommend this story to all.
